Our Youth Programmes

At Indigo Youth Ltd, our programmes are designed to support young people facing inequality and limited opportunities, helping them build confidence, develop skills and access positive pathways for the future.

We combine creativity, mentorship and real-world opportunities to ensure young people are not only engaged, but supported to progress.

Creative Development Programme

Our Creative Development Programme supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore and build careers within the creative industries.

Through music, poetry and creative practice, participants:

  • Develop practical creative and technical skills

  • Build confidence and self-expression

  • Gain exposure to industry opportunities

  • Access pathways into education, training and employment

The programme is focused on turning creativity into opportunity, helping young people become more employable while developing their artistic identity and potential.

Case Study: Jamal’s Journey:

Jamal joined the programme with a strong interest in music but lacked direction and confidence. Through consistent support, he developed his skills in music production and began performing his work. Over time, Jamal gained confidence, built a portfolio and was supported into further training opportunities. He is now actively pursuing a career in music and has a clearer sense of direction for his future.

Crime or Creativity Programme

Our Crime or Creativity Programme works with young people who are involved in, or at risk of entering, the criminal justice system.

We provide targeted support to help young people explore alternative pathways and make positive life choices.

Through mentorship, creative engagement and structured support, we:

  • Help young people reflect on their experiences and decisions

  • Provide access to new opportunities and career pathways

  • Build confidence, resilience and life skills

  • Support long-term behaviour change and personal development

This programme is focused on prevention, intervention and progression — supporting young people to move away from negative influences and towards safer, more positive futures.

Case Study: Aaron’s Turning Point:

Aaron was at risk of deeper involvement in criminal activity and disengaged from education. Through mentoring and creative workshops, he was able to reflect on his situation and explore alternative paths. With support, he re-engaged with structured activities and began focusing on developing new skills. Aaron is now working towards employment and has distanced himself from negative influences.

Our Approach

Across all our programmes, we:

  • Take a youth-centred and asset-based approach

  • Build trusted relationships with young people

  • Create safe, inclusive and culturally relevant spaces

  • Focus on long-term outcomes, not short-term engagement

Creating Real Opportunities

Our programmes are about more than participation — they are about progression.

We support young people to:

  • Develop skills and confidence

  • Access education, training and employment

  • Build positive networks and opportunities

  • Shape their own futures
